Questions

What people ask

What is wallet-native payment authorization?
A payment confirmation made in the wallet, where the signature covers the amount and payee and ties back to a verified identity. Because the approval signs the specific transaction rather than a generic code, it cannot be replayed against a different payment.
How does this satisfy PSD2 dynamic linking?
PSD2 wants the authentication code specific to the amount and payee, invalid if either changes. A signature over the transaction details does that directly, which is awkward to achieve cleanly with an SMS code carrying no transaction context.
Is this safer than SMS codes?
On the attacks that matter, yes. There is no code to read out to a caller, so voice phishing fails, and a SIM swap does not move the device-bound key. The payer also sees the real amount and payee instead of a generic approve prompt.
Does this replace 3-D Secure?
Not yet. It is an authentication method that runs inside your SCA flow, and how far it displaces existing challenges depends on card scheme support and issuer adoption. Treat it as another strong authentication option rather than a replacement.
